DESIGN RULES 2008

2009 Design Schedule Will Be Posted SOON!

 

1. Daffodils must be dominant in design. No artificial flowers, fruit or foliage may be used. The use of conservation material is not allowed. The exhibitor has complete freedom to choose components that may include fresh, dried and/or treated dried plant material.

 

 

2. Table coverings will be black. All other staging, including background is to be provided by the exhibitor.

 

3. Classes are open to any designer except where noted otherwise. An exhibitor may make only one entry per class. Advanced registration is required for all classes. Call Anne Owen at 615-794-0138 or email: annieo123@comcast.net before Thursday, March 27, 2008 to register. If unable to fulfill the obligation, the exhibitor must notify chairperson.

 

 

4. Entries will be accepted on Friday, March 28th from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and on Saturday, March 29th from 7a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Entries must be removed at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 30th.

 

 

5. Daffodils will be provided upon request for classes 2 and 3. Miniature daffodils may be requested for class 4. Flowers will be available Saturday March 29th  at 8:30 a.m.

 

 

6. Judges of this show are not allowed to enter classes 1-5.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

DAFFODILS ON DISPLAY

 

April showers bring May flowers

 

 

1. “The naked earth is warm with Spring”

A traditional line or line mass design shown in a 24x24 inch space.

Eligible for MTDS Design Award           

 

 

2. “Abundance of Spring”

A traditional mass design shown in a 24x24 inch space.

Eligible for MTDS Design Award                       

 

 

3. “Rain drops keep fallin’ on my head” A design in the Oriental manner.

A low container, water showing shown in a 24x24 inch space.

Eligible for MTDS Design Award                       

 

 

 4. “Every time it rains, it rains pennies from heaven” A small design not to exceed 10” in any direction. Designs to include miniature or other small daffodils. State style on entry card.

Eligible for MTDS Miniature Design Award

  

 

Best in Show Award

Awarded to the highest scoring arrangement in Classes 1- 4.

              

 

Novice Class

5. “Spring has returned”

Open to anyone that has not won a first place in any arrangement section of any flower show. Any type of arrangement, shown in a 24X24 inch space. Please state style on the entry card.

Eligible for MTDS Novice Award

 

 

Judges Class

6. “April is a promise that May is bound to keep”

Open to any of the arrangement judges judging this show. Must pre-register.

A traditional design shown in a 24x24 inch space/ Show committee will provide container and mechanics. Please bring your own line materials, flowers, and clippers.
